If so, then Guttridge could be the company for you...
Opportunities in many disciplines
Here at Guttridge we periodically have graduate training opportunities in a number of fields, from engineering related disciplines (including sales) through to finance and marketing. We have an eye for new talent so, if you are interested in working within an inspirational, challenging environment where you will be involved in live projects from the outset, please forward your CV using this form and we will get back to you within five working days.
Even if we have no open graduate positions, we can offer summer/holiday placements, degree course placements, internships and work experience in a wide range of disciplines to those that are interested in finding our more about our company.
Fully trained by industry experts
Guttridge are a family run bulk materials handling specialist, employing just over 100 people. Founded in 1962, we have over 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of bulk materials handling machinery. Our teams of sales engineers and design engineers are amongst the most experienced, renowned and respected people in the industry and any graduate placements will involve working directly alongside these individuals, an opportunity to learn from the masters!
Interesting, varied work
Because we are a relatively small company, or SME, each graduate position will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, so you will gain experience within a number of different areas of the business. Our placement students and graduates are extremely enthusiastic about the variety of the work, the fact that they work in small teams so that their work really makes a difference and that they work alongside - and are directly trained by - our industry experts.
Flourishing, fast-growing business
In November 2013, Guttridge were named as one of the top 200 fastest growing businesses in the region in a report released by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). This is based on an assessment of thousands of companies and reflects the success that we are proud to have experienced, even throughout the financial crisis of 2008. Our office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was opened in 2012 to support our customers in the MENA area and our overseas business in this region, as well as other areas of the globe, is flourishing. The opportunity for overseas travel for graduates is very likely.
Structured training program
Each graduate position will encompass a structured training program against which progress will be measured and rewarded. The successful completion of objectives and targets will be reflected in salary increases and, as a growing company, flourishing both in the UK and overseas, there is a high likelihood of good career progression opportunities.
Membership of Professional Bodies
We actively encourage graduates to apply for membership of relevant professional bodies such as IMechE, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Institute of Management Accounting etc, and we also pay membership fees.
Healthy work-life balance
As a family firm, Guttridge like to encourage employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Guttridge is based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, just 25 minutes (by car) from Peterborough, a vibrant Cambridgeshire city, at the heart of rural East England but only 50 minutes away from London by train. Find out more about Peterborough here. The historic town of Stamford, proclaimed by Sir Walter Scott as "the finest stone town in England", is also well within daily commuting distance of Spalding.
Interested in a career at Guttridge?
Due to the small nature of the company you get to know people on a one to one basis and you get a lot of feedback from your manager and other senior engineers on the team, as well as a lot of advice when you are stuck on projects. The CAD experience definitely improved my skills in this area.
