Defending against chemical lime
The main objective when installing new conveyors at Buxton Lime was to protect the machinery from an aggressive material. The plant is the biggest hydrated lime producer in the UK and processes more than half a million tonnes of limestone a week. Buxton Lime were looking for conveyors and elevators to transfer lime between their primary and secondary classification systems.

Solution
As usual, the first thing our team did was to listen to Buxton Lime's experts explain their situation. Our approach is that our clients understand their material better than anyone, so if we ask questions and listen carefully we will gather all the information we need to suggest a robust solution.
Based on the information, our in-house fabrication division that includes laser profiling CNC machines incorporated materials with extra thickness into the design. The installation includes:
- Three elevators
- Nine screw conveyors
The machines are capable of handling 20tph, giving a comfortable margin within the present 15tph environment.
