Spalding Flower Parade used to be an annual fixture for over 50 years, bringing together communities locally and nationwide. The event was celebrated with tulip-covered floats interspersed with local marching bands, entertainers, and jugglers marching their way through the streets of Spalding led by the Flower Queen and her attendants. However, in 2013 this so much-loved event ceased due to lack of funding.

This May things are about to change, and the famous Spalding Flower Parade is being brought back by the local community and the support of the local businesses and sponsors. This is a perfect example of what a strong will can achieve - a whole town coming together to volunteer and pull off an event of this scale.

The Spalding-based Guttridge is honoured to be supporting this community project and doing its bit to help bring back the enthusiastically celebrated Flower Parade. Guttridge is one of the proud sponsors and believes that it is important to support an event such as this which helps to enhance the culture of the town of Spalding and its local community. 

Doug Anderson, the Marketing and Sales Manager for Guttridge says “We have been a local employer for over 60 years and this is an important opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the area”.

The 2023 flower parade will have a whole new look, but the organizers are promising that there will be some elements of nostalgia incorporated too. It promises to be a colourful family-friendly day from 11am at the Castle Sports Ground. The event is free of charge and everyone is welcome.
