Attending for the first time, Guttridge recently participated in the International Fair of Khartoum, held at the Fair ground in Khartoum, Sudan, from 30th January to 6th February 2014. The exhibition is the largest international annual business rendezvous in Sudan and is well supported by both Private and Government sectors. The show was well attended, and the Guttridge team offered help, advice and information to a range of companies from a variety of industries. Guttridge have been designing and manufacturing bulk materials handling machinery for over 50 years and we have become established suppliers to a wide range of industries from food and pharmaceuticals to grain, cement and biomass. We are therefore well placed to meet the diverse requirements of the visitors to our stand at the Khartoum Fair which ranged from food belt conveyors and bagging lines to feed mills and spares enquiries for cement handling machinery.

Paul Gott, Sales and Marketing Director and Abbas Ibrahim, Area Sales Manager for MENA, have represented Guttridge in a series of trade missions to Sudan over the last few years during which we gained a number of contracts, including a very substantial project with Kenana Sugar Company (KSC), one of the world۪s largest sugar producers. Our attendance at the Fair helped to support our relationships with our current customers and contacts as well as allowing us to identify further business opportunities and partnerships. Upon returning from the Fair this week, Paul Gott commented Despite continued political uncertainty and difficulties with UK banks processing payments from Sudan, the country has enormous potential and a number of well regarded Sudanese companies are striving to develop their operations with help from western companies. The trade missions and Khartoum Fair have been helpful launch pads for us and extremely valuable in terms of identifying potential business contacts and partners: both highly productive activities in this increasingly flourishing country.۝
