COVID-19 - Our policy on the Coronavirus

Whilst we are closely following government advise and guidelines, it is still business as usual with a few exceptions:

Overseas travel is banned, we are utilising technological and digital solutions as an alternative to face-to-face meetings wherever possible.

We are also restricting domestic face-to-face meetings unless absolutely necessary and will be considering our customer visits on a case by case basis. We will only visit our customer sites if the customer is happy for us to do so and there is no alternative solution.

We are requesting that any visits to our Spalding based manufacturing site are postponed to a later date unless absolutely vital. Suppliers (or any other visitors) who need to visit to perform essential maintenance tasks will be reviewed and questioned on their risk exposure in accordance with our Risk Assessment and Method Statement process.

All our employees have been regularly briefed and advised since the start of the epidemic, and we have put everything in place as per NHS and Government guidelines to ensure that the risk of infection is minimised. Hand sanitisers have been provided both in the offices and the workshops, and guidelines on how to prevent the spread, recognise symptoms and self-isolate have been distributed to all employees, along with links to the NHS and Government websites.

The majority of our office based employees are now working from home. We will continue to assess employee health and welfare and allow anyone we consider to be vulnerable to work remotely where possible. All our staff are still available on email or on the phone if you need to talk to them.

We are continuing to keep our manufacturing facility functioning and are working closely with our suppliers and transport companies to ensure that risks are minimised. Again, these visitors to site will be reviewed and questioned on their risk exposure in accordance with our Risk Assessment and Method Statement process.

Our parent company, Mitchells, is based in China. They have worked exceptionally hard to restore the production facility to full capacity, now that 95% of their employees have been cleared to return to work.

We are conscious that this situation is changing daily, but we will endeavour to keep all parties updated.

We would like to thank our customers and our suppliers for their continued collaboration and support at this difficult time.

If you have further questions on our handling of the current situation or need to let us know about a potential issue, please call 01775 765300 or email HR@Guttridge.co.uk
