Year 12 pupils from Spalding Grammar School have been taking part in a 6 month project in the EES scheme, which culminated in an assessment day on the 2nd May in Solihull. They were given the task of designing a device for measuring the coefficient of friction and a device for measuring the angle of repose back in October and Guttridge’s Design Engineer, Louise Luck, has been working with them as their mentor to assist them in completing the project. The pupils did really well in giving their 15 minute presentation and an interview at their display stand to the panel of assessors. This is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to learn new skills and work as a team to ensure that the project is brought together for the assessment day. A great example of our work within the community and our desire to encourage young minds to work in the engineering industry.
